Day 1: Arrival at Paro and drive to your lodge

Altitude 2,280m

Kuzuzangpo and welcome to Bhutan,“The Land of the Thunder Dragon”. Landing at Paro International Airport, you will be greeted by your tour guide upon exiting the arrival hall. Then we will drive to your Hotel, let you check in the hotel and serve you with the first taste of Bhutanese cuisine.

Day 2: Paro sightseeing

Altitude 3,900m

Taktsang Monastery: A one hour hike to the cafeteria is a vantage view where you can enjoy the stunning view of the monastery. The name Taktsang came after Guru Padmasambhava landed on the back of a tigress in the 8th century.

DrukgyalDzong: A drive to north of Paro valley you will see the ruins of DrukgyalDzong which was built in 1647 by the great ZhabdrungNgawangNamgyal, known as the father and unifier of medieval Bhutan. DrukgyalDzong was destroyed by fire and left in ruins as reminiscent reminder of the great victories from Tibetans.

KyichuLhakhang:We will then visit the KyichuLhakhang, one of the oldest Lhakhang in the country. 

Day 3 :First day Trek ( Ta Dzong to JeleDzong)

Altitude 3,400m

We will drive to the Ta-Dzong where we will meet our trekking staff, the horsemen and horses for carrying our luggage. It will take some time to get organized in the beginning, and then we start our trek. The trail begins through steep blue pine forest and traditional houses. We will come over Tsachhu-gang with lots of farmhouses and pass over KuengaLhakhang.After climbing uphill we will see the nice view of Paro valley and further uphill  we reach the JeleDzong (jiliDzong).  This is where we will camp for the night.

Day 4 :Second day Trek (JeleDzong to Tsokam)

Altitude 3,900m

After the breakfast we will trek towards north on the ridge along with beautiful views disappearing into the forests. We then climb uphill and around a small peak and looking behind we will see the part of Paro valley and Dagala range to the south.Then we will trek till we reach Tsokam where we will tend our camp for the night. 

Day 5 :Third day Trek (Tsokam to JimilangTsho)

Altitude 2,880m

The third day trek will be a breath taking viewsof snowy peaks on the north and more spectacular view down into the valleys. We will proceed further north throughout the day.  Turning towards easttomorrow’s route is visible. Furthermore, we then pass through a little campsite at Labana and along the trek route several monasteries will be visible.Climbing slowly uphill and on the other side of the mountain the view of JimilangTsho can be seen, we trek up the Lake and camp for the night near the Lake.

Day 6 :Fourth day Trek (JimilangTsho to SimkotraTsho)

Altitude 4,100m

Today we will walk around the lake and to its far end and then we start to trek up above the lake along the bushes and come across lots of beautiful views. Many more beautiful lakes will be visible, trekking further along the mountains we will come to see SimkotraTsho where we will camp for the night. 

Day 7 :Fifth day Trek (SimkotraTsho to Phajoding)

Altitude 3,700m

Today’s trail will be trekking along the ridge of the mountain with several climbs and finally upon reaching the last hill, the whole of theThimphu valley is then visible. We descent down to Phajoding monastery and we camp at Phajoding for the night. Camping at Phajoding is definitely worthwhile as the night view of Thimphu valley is spectacular. 

Day 8 :Sixth day Trek (Phajoding to Thimphu)

Altitude 2,300m

Today is the last day of trekking it is a bit easy trek down the mountain through dense forests till we reach the road above the Takinenclosure from where our driver will take us to our hotel in Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. From there we will drive you to your hotel and take a good rest.

Day 9:Departing Paro

Altitude 2,280m

We will drive you to Paro airport for your flight and you bid a farewell to the Kingdom of Bhutan.
